Our Story
It all began when owner Juvencio Ramirez worked various jobs around his uncles' restaurants. Through mastering these tasks he became more and more passionate about the restaurant business with the goal to one day open his own place. One day in 2004 after driving by an empty building in the middle of Des Moines Juvencio, along with his dad, decided to take a chance on a dream. That year they opened Viva and 6 years later opened a second location in Urbandale.
